Residential property · Nationwide

Tired homes, bought well and brought back to life.

We buy houses and flats that most buyers walk past and turn them into homes people want to live in. Ten projects since 2020, from Burnley to the South Coast.

What we do

We take on the properties other people don't want to.

Bought at auction.

Most of our purchases are made in the auction room, on 28-day completions. We do the legal and survey work before we bid, so we know exactly what we're buying.

The awkward ones.

Short leases, planning, lease extensions, freehold purchases, odd layouts. The problems that put most buyers off are where we add the most value.

Hands-on refurbishment.

We run our own trades, hold the budget and are on site. No main contractor margin, no surprises at the end.

Finished properly.

Sold as homes, not projects: finished to a standard we'd live in ourselves, and priced to sell.

Projects

Ten projects, 2020 to date.

Every property below was bought by us, refurbished by us and sold or valued at the figure shown.

How we work

A simple process, done carefully.

  1. 01

    Find.

We watch every auction catalogue in our patch and look at a lot of properties for every one we buy.

  2. 02

    Check.

Legal pack, survey, lease, planning history and a costed scope of works, all before we bid. If the numbers don't work, we don't bid.

  3. 03

    Transform.

Our own trades, our own budget, our own site management. Typical projects take two to four months on site.

  4. 04

    Sell.

Finished, photographed and sold through local agents to people who'll live there.

Why now

The gap between tired homes and finished ones has rarely been wider.

Six things are true about the housing market at the moment, and together they explain why we're buying.

152,000

Homes expected to be built next year

Against a government target of 300,000 a year. Completions were about 190,000 in 2025/26 and are forecast to fall further as planning consents dry up.

Savills, June 20261

12-year high

Homes for sale

There are more homes on the market than at any point since 2014, and nearly half of everything listed since 2023 never found a buyer.

Rightmove and Zoopla, July 20262

53%

of buyers won't take on major work

Only 6% of buyers actively look for a project. The rest want a finished home, which leaves properties that need work sitting unsold.

LRG buyer survey, June 20263

51%

of landlord sales fell through last year

Rising to 60% for flats. A fifth of London homes for sale were rented in the last five years, and many owners want a quick, simple exit.

Hamptons, July 20264

Half

as many homes refurbished and resold

The number of homes bought and sold again within a year fell from 21,560 in 2016 to 10,570 in 2025. Fewer people are doing this work.

Hamptons, April 20265

5.98%

average two-year fixed mortgage

The highest since 2023, with building costs up 3.8% in a year and another 13% forecast by 2031. Buying with cash and controlling the build matters more than it has for years.

Moneyfacts, October 2026; BCIS, June 20266

Tired stock is piling up, the buyers who'd normally take it on have stepped back, and fewer people are set up to do the work. That gap is where we operate.

About

Small, hands-on and accountable.

Jackson Johnson Property is run by Ed Johnson. Since 2020 Ed has bought, refurbished and sold ten properties, nearly all of them at auction, and every one has been funded by the company itself. The early projects were done largely single-handed, with trades brought in only where needed, which is how Ed learned the work from the inside: what a job really costs, how long it really takes, and where the money is made or lost. Those lessons now sit behind every decision. Each purchase is appraised against real figures from previous projects, not estimates, and the company only bids when the numbers hold.

The company is deliberately small. There's no sales team and no middle layer, so decisions are quick and the person you speak to is the person doing the work.

Ed works alongside Naomi Jackson, a former Vice President at GetGround, the proptech company behind thousands of UK property purchases. Naomi spent years at the centre of the UK property market, working with investors, lenders and lawyers on the structuring, financing and administration of residential property, and brings that depth of knowledge to how the company is run and how each project is set up.
